What Sets the Modern Mirror Apart?

Built for the Contemporary Wedding Aesthetic

The modern mirror drops the ornate frame of the classic model for a clean, frameless edge. What you get is a sleek floor-standing display that blends into the venue instead of competing with it. Marble surfaces, timber accents, Hamptons styling, botanical arrangements, industrial brick: the modern mirror sits comfortably against any of them.

At Centennial Vineyards, Milton Park and Peppers Craigieburn in Bowral, and at barn venues across Robertson and Bundanoon, this has become the most-requested photo booth for the 2024 and 2025 wedding seasons. It photographs clean and prints sharp.

Functionally it works exactly like the classic model. You walk up to the full-length display, see yourself on screen, pick a frame or filter, and the mirror counts down before the shot fires. Prints come out in seconds, you can share digitally via MMS straight from the mirror, and your online gallery goes live within 48 hours.

Its slimmer profile also suits venues with lower ceilings or tighter floor plans. Where the classic model needs its full ornate height, this one fits into cocktail lounge corners, mezzanine levels and covered outdoor terraces.

Your attendant runs the modern mirror the same way they run every other booth: working directly with your DJ and MC so it activates at the right point in your run sheet, not during speeches and not while the bridal party is still being introduced. That coordination works because one team delivers every service on the day.

The modern mirror is the number one photo booth request across South Coast and Southern Highlands weddings right now, matching the gallery-style minimal aesthetic trending across NSW venues.

Frame Finishes

Available in black or white frame finish to match your venue styling and colour palette.

Modern vs Classic

How the Modern Mirror Differs From the Classic

Profile and Frame

The classic mirror features an ornate gold-toned frame that makes a bold decorative statement. The modern mirror uses a clean, frameless edge and slimmer overall profile. Ornate heritage spaces suit the classic, while contemporary venues suit the modern.

Ceiling Height and Footprint

The modern mirror's thinner build works in venues with lower ceilings or tighter spaces. It needs just 2m x 2m of floor space compared to the classic's 2.5m x 2.5m. Ideal for mezzanines, covered terraces and boutique indoor event spaces.

Styling Options

The modern mirror is available in black or white frame finish. This makes it easier to match a specific venue palette. Both the classic and modern use the same high-resolution camera and dye-sublimation printer for identical print quality.

Venue Pairing

Where the Modern Mirror Shines

The modern mirror is a natural fit for venues with a contemporary, minimal or curated aesthetic. Here are the styles where it works best across South Coast NSW and the Southern Highlands.

Winery and Vineyard Venues

Centennial Vineyards and similar properties around Bowral and Mittagong pair beautifully with the clean lines of the modern mirror. The neutral frame finish lets the landscape and floral arrangements do the talking.

Country Estate and Manor Venues

Milton Park Country House Hotel in Bowral, Peppers Craigieburn and similar properties suit the modern mirror's slim, considered profile. It sits quietly against stone walls and heritage panelling without visual conflict.

Barn and Rural Venues

Barn venues across Robertson, Bundanoon, Berry and the Southern Highlands have low timber ceilings and exposed beam structures. The modern mirror's lower height fits neatly without competing with the architectural features.

Works With Special FX

Pair With Special FX for Maximum Impact

The modern mirror booth pairs well with Party Central's Special FX package: cold spark machines, CO2 jets, dancing-on-clouds dry ice and confetti cannons. Put the mirror near the cocktail hour crowd while cold sparks fire on the dance floor during the first dance, and the same team runs both, so the timing lines up. Couples across Nowra, Gerringong, Kiama and the broader South Coast have used this combination at beach-view and garden reception venues.

Common Questions

Modern Mirror Photo Booth FAQs

What is the difference between the modern mirror and the classic mirror?
The classic mirror features an ornate gold-toned frame that makes a bold decorative statement. The modern mirror is frameless with a slimmer, cleaner profile suited to contemporary venue styles. Both use the same camera, printer and interactive touchscreen. Only the aesthetic and the footprint size differ.
Which mirror booth is right for my venue?
If your venue has a heritage, classic or formal aesthetic, think ballrooms, terrace venues or ornate event spaces, the classic mirror is the stronger choice. If your venue is contemporary, minimal, a barn, a winery or a botanical garden setting, the modern mirror fits more naturally. When you enquire, just tell us about your venue and we will recommend which model suits it best.
Does the modern mirror still do prints?
Yes. The modern mirror produces the same high-quality dye-sublimation prints as the classic model: two per session, out in seconds. The print quality and speed are identical between the two mirror options.
Can I choose the frame colour?
Yes. The modern mirror is available in black or white frame finish. Let us know your venue's colour palette when you enquire and we will confirm which option suits it better.
Is the booth suitable for outdoor events?
The modern mirror works in covered outdoor areas: undercover terraces, marquees and pergolas. It's not suitable for open-air use in direct sunlight or rain. If your event has an outdoor component, let us know the setup and we can advise on placement.
Does it need a special backdrop?
No. The modern mirror works well against a blank wall, a feature wall, a brick surface or draped fabric. A backdrop is not required. If you want one, we can discuss options, though many couples at venues in Berry, Gerringong and Robertson let the venue's natural texture serve as the background instead.
How do guests share their photos digitally?
Guests enter their mobile number directly on the mirror's touchscreen after their session. The digital copy arrives via MMS on their phone within minutes. All photos are also available in a private online gallery shared within 48 hours.
Is the attendant included?
Yes. Every modern mirror booking includes a dedicated attendant for the full hire period. They set up 1.5 hours before guests, manage the queue during the event and coordinate directly with your DJ and MC so the booth activates at the right time.
Can I use both mirror booths at the same event?
Yes. For larger events, particularly corporate functions, school formals and wedding receptions of 200 or more guests, running both the classic and modern mirror at once cuts wait times significantly. Ask about multi-booth pricing when you enquire.
Do you set up and pack down?
Yes. The team arrives 1.5 hours before guests to set up and test the system. Pack-down happens quietly at the end of the hire period. You need to provide a 2m x 2m floor space and a standard 240V power outlet within 5 metres.
How far in advance should I book a photo booth?
As soon as your date and venue are set. Weekends across the South Coast and Southern Highlands between October and April book out fastest, often six to twelve months ahead. A 25% deposit locks in your date and booth choice.
Do I need to tip the photo booth attendant?
It's never expected. The attendant's time is already included in your package, but if your guests have a great night, tips are welcome and go straight to the attendant on shift.

What is the difference between a classic and modern mirror photo booth?

Both mirror booths offer the same features — instant prints, GIFs, boomerangs, and social sharing. The classic mirror has a traditional ornate frame suited to vintage or rustic weddings. The modern mirror is frameless with a sleek, minimalist design that suits contemporary styling. Same technology, different aesthetic.
