What Is a 360 Video Booth?

Cinematic Slow-Motion Video From Every Angle

A camera sits on a rotating arm that sweeps a full circle around a raised platform while your group stands in the centre. It captures slow-motion footage from every angle at once, and the result looks nothing like a standard photo booth print.

Still photography can't catch six people throwing confetti mid-air or raising a glass at the same moment from every side. When your group jumps, laughs or spins on the platform, the slow-motion arm turns that burst of movement into a clip people actually stop scrolling for. That's why 360 footage circulates on Instagram and group chats far more than a printed photo strip does.

At weddings across Wollongong, Kiama, Nowra and Bowral, the 360 booth tends to become the moment guests talk about on the drive home. People line up for their turn. Our attendant runs the timing and works with your DJ to fire up the booth after entrée, during cocktail hour, or in the gap between the first dance and dinner service.

Once a session ends, we process the video on-site and send it to your guests' phones by MMS or QR code within minutes. A branded overlay carrying the couple's names, the date and a custom message runs across every clip, and we can screen it live on a venue monitor so the room sees the playback the second it's ready.

Chris and the team liaise directly with your DJ and MC to time each session. That means the platform runs while energy in the room is high, and stays off during speeches. For couples in Gerringong, Huskisson, Berry and across the Shoalhaven, that coordination is what turns the 360 booth into a centrepiece rather than a side attraction.

Video Over Photos

A still photo can't show your group mid-jump or mid-laugh from six angles at once. A slow-motion 360 clip can, which is why guests post these far more often than a printed photo strip.

How It Works

From Platform to Phone, Step by Step

1

Step Onto the Platform

Up to 6 guests step onto the raised platform. The attendant positions them and confirms everyone is ready. A countdown signals the start of the rotation.

2

The Arm Sweeps 360°

The rotating arm circles the guests in a full 360 sweep, capturing slow-motion footage from every angle. The whole rotation takes only a few seconds from the guests' perspective.

3

Video to Phone in Minutes

The video is processed on-site and sent via MMS or accessible via QR code within minutes. Guests can download and share immediately. If a venue screen is connected, the video plays back live for the crowd.

Setup and pack-down

Timing and Placement

When to Deploy the 360 Booth for Maximum Impact

The booth works best once the room already has energy in it. Your attendant talks directly with the DJ and MC beforehand so it fires at the right point in your run sheet.

After Entrée

Guests have eaten, had a drink and the formalities are done for now. Bring the platform out here and it pulls a crowd straight into the dance floor.

Cocktail Hour

This works well during the gap between ceremony and reception at venues around Kiama, Berry and Gerringong, while the bridal party is off having portraits taken.

Post-First Dance

Once the couple finishes their first dance and the floor opens, the platform gives everyone else a reason to get up and move.

Common Questions

360 Video Booth FAQs

What is a 360 video booth?
A 360 video booth consists of a camera mounted on a motorised rotating arm that circles a raised platform where guests stand. As the arm sweeps around, it captures slow-motion footage from every angle. The footage is processed into a cinematic slow-motion video with a branded overlay and delivered to guests' phones within minutes.
How many people can fit on the platform?
Up to 6 people can stand comfortably on the platform per session. The platform is typically 1.5 metres in diameter, and groups of 2 to 6 work best since larger groups crowd the frame. Bridal parties and work teams of 4 to 6 tend to produce the most dynamic clips.
How do guests receive their video?
Guests provide their mobile number after the session and receive an MMS with a link to download their video within minutes. Alternatively, a QR code is displayed on-site and guests can scan it to access their clip immediately. The video is in MP4 format and compatible with all social media platforms.
Can you add music to the videos?
Yes. You can nominate a music track to play behind all videos from your event. This is discussed during the booking process. The same track plays on all clips, which creates a consistent and branded feel across every video that gets shared on social media from your event.
What size space is needed?
The 360 booth requires a minimum 3 metre clearance radius around the platform to allow the arm to rotate safely. This means you need roughly a 6m x 6m clear area in your venue. The platform and arm itself has a smaller footprint, but the rotation zone must be kept clear. A standard 240V power outlet is also required within 5 metres.
Is an attendant included?
Yes. A dedicated attendant operates the 360 booth for the full hire period. They set up 1.5 hours before guests, manage each session, send the videos, and coordinate with your DJ and MC so the booth runs at the right moments in your event's timeline.
Can I have a custom video overlay?
Yes. Every booking includes a custom branded video overlay with the names, date, logo or message of your choice. The overlay design is sent to you for approval before the event. For corporate events, the company logo and brand colours can be incorporated.
Is it suitable for outdoor events?
The 360 booth can operate outdoors in a sheltered or undercover area but is not suitable for open-air use in wind, rain or direct sunlight, which affects video quality. Covered outdoor terraces, pergolas and pavilions are suitable. We will advise based on your specific venue when you enquire.
How long does it take to process a video?
Videos are processed on-site by the attendant in real time. Guests typically receive their video within 2 to 5 minutes of stepping off the platform. If a venue screen is connected, the video plays live on the monitor in the same window of time, so the room gets to watch it too.
Can I combine the 360 booth with a mirror photo booth?
Yes. Running both a 360 booth and a mirror booth at the same event is a popular choice for large weddings and corporate events. The 360 platform generates high-energy video content while the mirror booth provides the take-home print that guests keep. Ask about combination pricing when you enquire.
How far in advance should I book a photo booth?
As soon as your date and venue are set. Weekends across the South Coast and Southern Highlands between October and April book out fastest, often six to twelve months ahead. A 25% deposit locks in your date and booth choice.
Do I need to tip the photo booth attendant?
It's never expected. The attendant's time is already included in your package, but if your guests have a great night, tips are welcome and go straight to the attendant on shift.

What is a 360 video booth and how does it work?

A 360 video booth is a rotating camera platform that captures slow-motion video of guests from every angle. You stand on a platform while a camera arm rotates around you, creating a cinematic slow-motion clip. Videos are rendered instantly and shared via text or social media. It's one of the most shared types of event content.

How much space does a 360 video booth need?

A 360 video booth requires a flat area of approximately 3m x 3m with at least 2.5m ceiling clearance. Party Central handles all setup and pack-down, and confirms space requirements with your venue before the event.
